Workplace is public space.

In Downtown Los Angeles, communities fight for a future city abundant with quality outdoor public spaces. As a Center for Environmental Justice, this project aims to support the work necessary to create these crucial spaces in the city, while also being one itself. While the upper 5 stories of this mass timber high-rise host research offices, meeting rooms, and libraries, the ground levels engage with the site to offer the same program to the public, in the form of outdoor space.

Starting with the design of the site, this project gathers people, thoughts, and ideas with the purpose of moving them, bottom-up and outside-in, only to then return them out into the city.
